President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Ukraine

On Monday, October 9th, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrives in Ukraine on an official visit. Within the visit the sixth session of the high-level Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey will be held.

The sides will discuss “ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in all strategic areas,” as well as issues of international peace and regional security. A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.

 Also during the visit, the meeting of the Turkish President with the Leader of the Crimean Tatar peopleMustafa Dzhemilev, members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and activists from among the Crimean Tatars is planned.

 The official website of the Turkish President also indicates that the “Crimean issue” and the situation around the Crimean Tatar people will be considered.

 This will be the second meeting of Mustafa Dzhemilev with the President of the Republic of Turkey this year. The Leader of the Crimean Tatar people met with Recep Tayyip Erdogan on July 4, 2017 during his visit to Turkey.
