Decision of Mejlis «On Events, Dedicated to the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism to Preserve the Memory of the Victims of Mass Deportation and Exterminations»
In accordance with the Resolution of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly of July 3, 2009 “Reunion of Segregated Europe: promotion for Human Rights and civil freedoms in the region OSCE in the 20th century”, August 23, the day of ratification of the pact “Ribbentrop – Molotov”, was declared the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism to Preserve the Memory of the Victims of Mass Deportation and Exterminations.
The Crimean Tatar people, that suffered the crimes, committed by the Communist regime of the USSR in the 20th century admitted as a genocide, regards the Resolution of PA OSCE as one more step, contributing the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to its Homeland.
Based on the Resolution of PA OSCE and commemorating the multimillion human victims, suffered by the peoples of Europe from the crimes, committed by the Communist and Nazi regimes, Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, since August 23, 2009 organizes annually the meeting in Simferopol, attended by the representatives of various public and political organizations.
The mourning meeting carried out in the framework of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism to Preserve the Memory of the Victims of Mass Deportation and Exterminations to be held on August 23, 2001 next to the memorial, commemorating the victims of deportation of the Crimean Tatar people near Salgirka Park (Yaltinskaya Street).
Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people with the purpose to organize the proper carrying out of the mourning meeting, commemorating the victims of Stalinism and Nazism
DECIDE:
1. To approve the Working Group, including:
Refat CHUBAROV, First Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea (Head of the Working Group),
Zair SMEDLYAEV, Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis (Deputy Head of the Working Group),
Vasily OVCHARUK, Chairman of Crimean Organization of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists (member of the Working Group, on his accent),
Leonid PELUNSKY, Chairman of Crimean Regional Organization of People’s Rukh of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea (member of the Working Group, on his accent),
Oleg FOMUSHKIN, Chairman of Crimean Organization of Ukrainian People’s Party (member of the Working Group, on his accent),
Ali KHAMZIN, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of Mejlis (member of the Working Group),
Ruslan ENNANOV, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, acting Chairman of Simferopol regional Mejlis (member of the Working Group),
2. Working group is to:
– prepare and make public in Mass Media the address to Crimean public on the order of carrying out of the mourning meeting, dedicated to the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism to Preserve the Memory of the Victims of Mass Deportation and Exterminations.
Deadline: August 15, 2011
– ensure all the necessary organizing arrangements, aimed at the carrying out of the mourning meeting.
