Condolences over the death of Ali Alimov

Goodbye, our Master!

People paid their last respects to the national cultural figure – Ali Alimov.

The sad news spread over Crimea: a great dancer, choreographer, teacher, founder and permanent artistic director of the famous children’s and youth ensembles named “Uchan-Su” and “Fidanlar” since 1990, who lived in his hometown of Aqmescit from the very first days after his return to his Homeland, magnanimous Ali aga Alimov left this world.

Last year, on March 14th, the general public and hundreds of Ali aga students congratulated him on his respectable 90th anniversary and wished him the best compliments. There, a memory of one of the most prominent personalities in our national culture was remembered. At his 17 faced with all the horror of the deportation tragedy, Ali aga, before becoming an artist, worked as a shoemaker and a driver. After stepping onto thestage, his love of dance and his talent made him a master of his craft, and later – a mentor.

Most of the time, for 22 years, he lived in Odessa in order to be closer to the Motherland because that time it was forbidden to return to Crimea.Being engaged to his favorite business, he, as a choreographer and a ballet master, worked on the development of our national dances in the guise of “mountain dances”. This work helped him in the future, already being in Crimea to revive our native culture.

As a master, Ali aga, developing the love of the young generation to national dances, respected principles in his pedagogical activity as well: he never denied any child who wanted to enter his ensembles, never offended anyone, treated every student like his own grandchildren. And all students were answering him with mutual respect and love. The annual spring concerts of the ensembles “Uchan-Su” and “Fidanlar” havebecome an excellent cultural tradition.

Unfortunately, the past time political events negatively affected the creative activities of the mentor. Not because of health, but because of the change in the political atmosphere, he put aside his favorite business, his own ensembles and active work.

In respect of Ali aga Osman oglu Alimov, we express our deepest and most sincere condolences to his wife – Meva hanym, to his son – Ebazer bey, to his daughter – Ulker hanym, to his grandchildren and all relatives.

May Allah have a mercy on him.
