Turkish Ambassador to Lithuania Supports Holding of Second Round of Four Party Meeting Attended by Heads of MFAs of Ukraine and Turkey, Council of Ministers of ARC and Mejlis to Discuss Crimean Tatars’ Problems
On October 21, 2013, in the framework of the working visit the delegation of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People to the Republic of Lithuania the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Jemilev met with Mr Akin Algan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Lithuania.
During the meeting in the Embassy of Turkey the parties discussed the issues relating to the visit of the EU Commissioner Mr Stefan Fule to Ukraine and his meeting with the leaders of the Mejlis held on September 19, 2013. The parties also discussed the results of the separate meetings of the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev with the Prime Minister of Turkey Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr Ahmet Davutoglu held in Ankara on October 11, 2013.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Lithuania Mr Akin Algan expressed his high opinion of the necessity to hold the second round of the four-party meeting attended by the ministers of the foreign affairs of Turkey and Ukraine, as well as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of ACR Mr Anatoly Mogilev and the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People to discuss the problems of the Crimean Tatars. According to Mr Akin Algan such meeting could be held in January 2014 in Kyiv during the meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs – members of the OSCE.
In conclusion of the meeting the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Lithuania wished the delegation of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People success and fruitful work during its stay in Lithuania.
The meeting was also attended by Mr Ali Hamzin, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations at the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Mr Adas Yakubauskas, representative of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People in Lithuania and Mr Rustem Umerov, financial assistant of the MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev.
