Writer and Poet Isa Abduraman Celebrates His 75th Anniversary

On May 7, 2012 the reading, timed to the 75th anniversary of birth of the famous poet and writer Isa Abduraman was held in I.Gasprinsky Crimean Tatar library.

He is also known as a playwright – Crimean Tatar Musical and Drama Theatre staged his play “Qoba”.

The workers of I.Gasprinsky Crimean Tatar library organized the photo-documentary exhibition, showing the poet’s books, pictures and articles about him.

The famous Crimean Tatar poets and writers, members of the Union of Writers of Ukraine Sheryan Ali, Urie Edemova, Ablyaziz Veliev, MP of the VR of ARC, Head of the Department of culture and education of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Safure Kadzhametova, chief editor of magazine “Yildyz”, Dilyaver Osmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of ARC on interethnic relations and deported citizens, Emine Avamileva, Professor Ismail Kerimov, director of Crimean Tatar Academic Musical and Drama Theatre, Refat Seytablaev, veteran of Crimean Tatar national movement, Shefika Konsul, the former editor of popular TV program “Merabaniz Balalar!” Subie Nalbandova and many others congratulated the writer.

Congratulations and wishes of his colleagues – writers were very touching and heartfelt. They recalled with sadness and proud the writers that passed away who preserved the vivid Crimean Tatar language in their works in deportation and gave an impulse to its further revival after the return to the Homeland. All they paid tribute to Isa Abduraman, noting his significant contribution to the development of modern Crimean Tatar literature.

“Everyone knows Isa Abduraman – children and adults, – Safure Kadzhametova noted in her speech. – His works are taught at schools. They have an educational meaning. They help children studying their national traditions and customs. His articles arouse big response of the readers”. Safure Kadzhametova wished I.Abduraman success in his work and long life and said that his 80th anniversary should be celebrated in Crimean Tatar theatre.

The artist and singer of Crimean Tatar Academic Musical and Drama Theatre, Seytabla Memetov performed the national song “Gider De Isen” that decorated the event.

In conclusion of the meeting Isa Abduraman thanked everyone for their congratulations and their participation in the event. He also shared some of his plans for the future.

Isa Abduraman, born May 5, 1937 in Kezlev (Yevpatoriya). In the age of 7 he was exiled with his family to Uzbekistan. After graduation from the department of Uzbek and Tadjik philology of Samarkand State University in 1967 Isa Abduraman was invited to work in newspaper “Lenin Yolu”. His first rhyme in Uzbek language was published in 1957. Many of his works were written in Uzbek language, but the writer always wished to write in his native language. In 1961 he published his first poem in Crimean Tatar language in newspaper “Lenin Bayragy”. Since 1967 he became the permanent author of the newspaper. In 1997 Isa Abduraman moved to Crimea. The writer’s first book, published after his return to Crimea was “Yan’y kun’, selyam!”

Isa Abduraman is an author of more than 20 poetic and prose collections. Isa Abduraman is the member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1979), the Honored journalist of Uzbekistan (1992), member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. Isa Abduraman’s works are translated to other languages. Isa Abduraman’s multifaceted talent, industry and grit touches hearts of thousands of literature lovers.
