Working Visit of Leader of Mejlis, Mustafa Jemilev to Chernomorsky Region

On February 26, 2012 the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine, Mustafa Jemilev held meeting with the nationals, living in Chernomorsky region.

In the beginning of the meeting the member of the Commission on preparation and organization of the election of local mejlises, Zevdzhet Kurtumerov held a seminar for the members of the territorial commissions, dedicated to the preparation of the coming election of the members of the local mejlises in Chernomorsky region.

During his speech the Leader of Mejlis, M.Jemilev informed all the present about the public and political situation in Ukraine and Crimea, paying attention to the most significant events to take place in Ukraine in 2012.

 “This year Crimean Tatars are to elect the new Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and new Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, – Mustafa Jemilev said. There will be also the national election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Undoubtedly, the decision concerning what political party the Crimean Tatar people will support to be adopted by Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and its delegates”.

In addition, Mejlis’ leader told in details about the process of the preparation to one more significant event in the Crimean Tatar people’s life – the International Forum on therestoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to their homeland, its security and guarantees of development in Ukraine, held under the aegis of the OSCE. “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people has agreed with the office of the OSCE High Commissioner the concept of the scheduled Forum and the awaited results, but M.Jemilev continued – much depends on the position of the Ukrainian authorities. We hope that these issues will be solved in the nearest future and the International Forum will be held in Autumn 2012 in Kyiv.”

Addressing the residents of Chernomorsky region, the Chairman of Mejlis M.Jemilev asked them to be active and feel free to ask any questions, remarks and discussion of the current situation. One of the repeatedly asked questions was the problem of registration of people in the land plots that were legally allotted to them and where the houses already were built, and the whole families live. “The local authorities refuse to register people in their own houses, motivating that these houses should be put into commission first, – people complained. Moreover, the main problem is not the long term process of the official registration, but in unreal high price that has to be paid for the registration of the individual houses”.

The representatives of the local religious communities addressed the leader of Mejlis asking him to assist in finishing of the mosque in Chernomorsky settlement whose foundation was built by the local residents themselves, as well as all the corresponding permitting documents and the design plan of the future mosque agreed. The same request came from the residents of Kirovsky settlement where the local mosque has been operating for some years, but unfortunately, still has no minaret.

The Chairman of Mejlis, Mustafa Jemilev promised not to leave the questions asked without the consideration and to do everything that depends on Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and himself personally.

The Head of Chernomorsky branch of Association “Maarifchi”, Nurie Abibulaeva addressed the leadership of Mejlis asking them to consider the possibility of construction of school-kindergarten in Chernomorsky settlement with education in Crimean Tatar language which is very necessary for local children.

Abduraman Egiz, the President of the international public organization “Bizim Qirim” and the delegate of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people of the fifth convocation told about the current activity of his organization and called the young people of Chernomorsky region to be active and sure in all their beginnings.
