On March 19, 2013 the first meeting of the Organizational committee on preparation and holding of the events, timed to the Day of commemoration of the victims of the deportation from Crimea, chaired by the Head of the Council of Ministers of AR Crimea was held on March 19, 2013.

The meeting was attended by the First Vice Chairman of Mejlis, Head of the Parliamentary faction “Qurultay-Rukh” in the VR ARC Refat Chubarov and Deputy Chairman of Mejlis, MP of AR Crimea Remzi Ilyasov.

According to Refat Chubarov the Organizational committee agreed that the mass mourning events, commemorating the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people on the Central square of Aqmescit (Simferopol) on May 17 – “Light up a fire in your heart” and– All-Crimean mourning meeting, commemorating the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people on May 18 will be organized and held by Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.

Of course, Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people will cooperate with Simferopol City Council, as well as with other state and municipal organizations and services, involving in holding of the mass events and solving of all organizational and technical issues. The May 18 is the Day of the national mourn of the Crimean Tatar people and we will make everything to bring the essence of the tragedy of May 18, 1944 and importance of overcoming of the consequences of this crime, committed by the Soviet regime, to notice of the whole Crimean society,”- Refat Chubarov added.
