«We Must Get Even More United, This is Our Power,»- Refat Chubarov
On April 23, 2012 the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol started the consideration of R.Balbek’s claim “On protection of honor, dignity, goodwill and denial of the false information” against the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev, all-Ukrainian newspaper “Day” and Crimean Tatar newspaper “Avdet”.
As before, Ruslan Belbek was not present at the open court session, chaired by the judge of Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, Didenko D.A.. His interests were represented by his advocate Alexander Zadkov.
It was just the first of the sessions where the representatives of both sides filed their petitions and announced the eyewitnesses for the next hearing.
Mustafa Jemilev’s advocate Khatije Mamutova filed the petition to invite the First Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov as an eyewitness.
First, Ruslan Belbek’s representative Alexander Zadkov asked the court to invite Enver Ametov, Kamil Ametov, Murat Voenny, Timur Dagji and Rustem Suleymanov as the eyewitnesses to tell the court about the moral sufferings and about the consequences of the publication of the article about him that would also characterize the Chairman of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev.
Hundreds of Crimean Tatars gathered at the street next to the building of the court to find out about the course of the court trial.
After the court session the Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis, Zair Smedlyaev told people about the course of the court trial. He also informed that the next court session will be held on May 23, 2012 at 9.30. Then the Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Ahtem Chijgoz addressed the people, noting that the actions of persons that call themselves Crimean Tatars, aimed at confrontation in Crimean Tatar community are the attempt to split the people. “If they think that less people will gather here on May 23 they are mistaken,- Ahtem Chijgoz said. Another question is why is the trail delayed? This provocation is grooving and takes other forms”.
The first Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov noted that the date of the next court session is not accidental, but will depend on the unity and organization of the events of May 18. “They attempts to split our people will fail. We must get more united, this is our power,”- Refat Chubarov said.
All the people gathered next to the court expressed their opinion on the necessity to take part in the court trial in the future as well as other events, related to the day of the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people.
