United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Sign Joint Statement about Participation in Parliamentary Elections 2012

The United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people signed the joint statement about the conclusion of the negotiations about the participation in the election to the Verkhovna Rada and cooperation in the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation through the candidates, nominated by Mejlis to the voting list of the United opposition.

Such statement was made at the joint Press Conference of the Chairman of the Council of the United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and Head of the Central Election Headquarters of the United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” Alexander Turchinov.

The joint statement of the United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people was signed in Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages.

We would remind you that the united opposition is made up of 7 parties: All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina”, Front Zmin, National Rukh of Ukraine, Civil Position, Party “For Ukraine”, Party “Reforms and Order” and Party “National Self-Defence”.

The elections to the Verkhovna Rada will be held on October 28, 2012.

Of

United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and

Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People

Having its goal to return to the democratic development of Ukraine, economic and social-cultural wellbeing, ensuring human rights and freedoms of persons and citizens, restoration of justice in the political, legal, economic and social fields of life, the United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people agreed as follows.

The United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to join their efforts to eliminate any barriers and threats to the democratic development of Ukraine, ensuring the rights and freedoms of its citizens of all nationalities and religions.

The United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” supports the legal yearning of the Crimean Tatar people that suffered from the crimes, committed by the Soviet regime, the restoration of its political, economic and social-cultural rights that will take form of the lawmaking activity of the Parliamentary faction of the United opposition in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 7th convocation.

The United Opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” will represent the Crimean Tatar people’s interests in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine through the delegates, nominated by Mejlis to the voting list of the United opposition.

Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people supports the political position and program of the United opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and will promote spreading of the ideas and principles of the United opposition and will do its best to let the United opposition win the Parliamentary election 2012. We will join our efforts to defend the state status of the Ukrainian language from any attacks and full-fledged functioning of languages of the indigenous peoples and national minorities in Ukraine.

The United opposition of All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivschina” and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people will cooperate in the Parliamentary election 2012 in the issues of the respect of the law, equal possibilities for all the participants of the elective process in all its stages and fair and just calculation of the results of the election.
