Ukrainian MP Mustafa Jemilev Registered Draft Law of Ukraine On Concept of State Ethnonational Policy of Ukraine

On July 5, 2013, the Ukrainian MP, Head of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Jemilev registered the Draft Law of Ukraine “On Concept of State Ethnonational Policy of Ukraine” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.”
According to the explanatory note to this Draft Law: “The Concept of the state ethnonational policy must provide the lawmakers, public servants with the single understanding of the principles, goals, and trends of the state ethnonational policy. It will hinder the path to manifestations of the contradicting provisions in the laws and especially in the subordinate regulatory acts, free local interpreting of the sense of the state’s policy cornering the national majority and national minorities”.
Earlier the Ukrainian MP M.Jemilev has submitted the Draft of this Law to consideration of the Ukrainian Parliament of the 6th convocation.
The similar draft law was also submitted by the Government of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in March 2012.
