The Visit of Representatives of Commission “TCS- 2011” to the Office of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People
On April 21, 2011 the first deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov and the head of Department of foreign relations of Crimean Tatar Mejlis Ali Khamzin met the members of the commission on supervision over the testing of the program “TCS- 2011” on selection of the nominees for studying in institutes of higher education in Turkey.
The delegation, accompanied by the member of Mejlis, head of Association of Crimean Tatar workers of education “Maarifchi” Safure Kadzhametova, consisted of the representative of the department of higher education of the Ministry of national education of Turkey Yükseköğretim Kurulu (“YÖK”) Furuzan Ozchelik, representative of the Ministry of national education of Turkey Rushtu Gedik, representative of Center of testing and distribution of students among the educational institutions of Turkey “Ösym” Turay Karadere, the representatives of the newly established Ministry of relations with Turkish peoples of the Council of Ministers of Turkey Eliz Oz and Zakhide Erbilli, and representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Reykhan Kalkay and representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey Fatikh Baldzhi. Participation of the last representatives in the Commission was caused by the nessesity to agree the recuirements of the legislation of Ukraine and Turkey that regulate the students exchange issues and their staying in the territory of Turkey.
The Turkish guests informed that in 2011, in the framework of “Great Student Project” financed from the budget of Turkey, the program “TCS-2011” was held in 12 countries. Every country has its own authorized representative of the Program, promoting to implementation of this project. “In Crimea the program “TCS-2011” is carried out with assistance of Association of Crimean Tatar workers of education “Maarifchi” under the aegis of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.” – noted the members of the commission.
In her turn, Safure Kadzhametova informed the first deputy Chairman of Mejlis that the applications for participation in testing “TCS-2011” were received on-line until April 8, 2011 that in some ways became a difficulty for many applicants due to the limited dead line. Nevertheless, all in all 53 applications of school leavers were received for 30 places available in 8 leading Turkish universities to 15 departments. It is remarkable, that the majority of subjects during the education will be taught in English that will allow the graduates of these universities to be more competitive on their specialties.
On April 24 at 9 a.m. in all 12 countries in accordance with the common standard the representatives, including Crimea, will start realization of the program “TCS- 2011”.
The first deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, greeting the members of the commission in Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, noted that the educational project “TCS- 2011”, realized with financial support of the government of Turkey is one of the important measures, taken in order to train professional and competitive specialists among the Crimean Tatar youth.
“Naturally, the majority of Crimean Tatar youth will receive education in Ukrainian institutes and universities, many of which have good possibilities to train specialists required by the society. At the same time, it is very important for us to send talented youth to institutes of higher education of other countries, such as Poland, Russia, Great Britain, Turkey, because the integration processes between Ukraine and other countries require more and more multilingual specialists possessing universal knowledge. In this respect we are thankful to program “TCS”, working successfully in Crimea since 1992, allowing hundreds of young people realize their wish and now can use their knowledge in favor of the society”, said Refat Chubarov.
At the same day the members of the commission “TCS- 2011”visited Crimean Tatar museum of arts, Crimean Tatar library named after I.Gasprinsky and office of TIKA in Crimea.
