Simferopol Celebrates 105th Anniversary of Peter Grygorenko’s Birth

On October 16, 2012 morning the service for the memory of the outstanding human rights advocate, decedent, General Peter Grigorenko was held in St. Vladimir and Olga Equal-to-the-Apls Cathedral Church in Simferopol.

At the noon the ceremony of the laying of flowers was held next to the monument to Peter Grigorenko, located at the square that was given his name.

The ceremony was attended by the First Vice Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Crimea Refat Chubarov, CEO of the Foundation for the development of Crimea Alexei Skorik, members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and Crimean community.

 “Today we celebrate the 105th anniversary of birth of our battle General, sworn brother,- Refat Chubarov said. – We’d like that there were many of us – it will be, I’m sure. It’ll happen later when our country will be such as the Ukrainian patriots wanted to see it, as we and those who live here today want it to be. Today we commemorate Peter Grigorenko on behalf of hundreds of thousands people, including those who didn’t know him, but they also fought for the freedom”.

We’d like to note that the initiator of the events, timed to the 105th anniversary of Peter Grigorenko’s birth was the charitable organization “Foundation for the development of Crimea”.
