Second Session of Qurultay of 6th Convocation Will Be Held Soon to Discuss Issues of Implementation of Right to Self-Determination of Crimean Tatar People as Well as Further Actions of Mejlis in Existing Situation in Crimea

With regards to the statement spread in a range of Mass Media about the intention of “Crimean Tatar activists” to revive the national-liberating movement of the Crimean Tatars, the press service of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People states:

1. These statements have nothing to do neither with the activity, nor the decisions of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People;

2. These statements are the individual position of Mr Nedim Halilov who positions himself as the head of the working group on resolution of mourning meetings of the Crimean Tatars;

3. The issues of the implementation of the right to self-determination of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as the further actions of the Mejlis in the existing situation in Crimea will be discussed on the 2^nd session of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People that will be held soon.

Following from this point, we ask the journalists and editors of all Mass Media to avoid making sensations of the statements of separate individuals on this difficult time.

The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People is always open to Mass Media and consideration of the events that are important for the general public.
