Dear participants of the evening-requiem

There are memorable days in the history of every people reflecting the events that influenced critically its destiny.

67 years ago the pitiless countdown began. It was measured meticulously by the criminal communist regime of the USSR to exterminate the Crimean Tatar people.

The God didn’t let implementation of the misanthropic plans of our enemies. The people having many-century glorious history, culture, traditions and freedom stood up and returned to its homeland.

It stood up at the price of irreplaceable losses due to the courage and selflessness of thousands and thousands of activists of the Crimean Tatar national movement who sacrificed their lives on the altar of justice, due to wisdom of our fathers and mothers who managed to give their children a sense of devotion and love to their native land – Crimea.

The Crimean Tatar people who suffered all horrors and hardships of exile is returning to its homeland hoping for the restoration of justice and inalienable rights inherent to any people to free development that will serve a real basis of flourishing of Crimea and respect of rights and interests of all its inhabitants.

However, it is obvious that the full restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people and resettlement of hundreds of settlements where Crimean Tatars have resided after their return cannot be achieved without involvement of the International community.
Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people makes every effort in order to implement as soon as possible the initiative of the Crimean Tatar people on calling of the International Forum on the restoration of rights of the Crimean Tatar people on its homeland, ensuring its security and guarantees of development in Ukraine.

Today we bend our heads and pray for the memory of hundreds thousands of Crimean Tatars – our fellow citizens, mercilessly exiled from their homeland, killed and died of hunger and cold, backbreaking penal servitude under conditions of special commandant’s regime, those who never to live until the hard but happy days of return to our native land.

We – Crimean Tatars along with our kind neighbors – people of different nationalities – will be always together and tomorrow at numerous mourning events, carried out in Crimean villages and towns and outside it, at all-Crimean mourning meeting in Simferopol, because we feel sincere need in manifestation of honor of memory of victims of the totalitarian regime and empathy to each other.

Eternal memory the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people!
