Refat Chubarov, the Chairman of Mejlis, urged the residents of Crimea, in response to the capture of the Crimean parliament and government buildings by unidentified armed men, to remain calm and to avoid getting out in the streets

“The buildings of the Crimean Verkhovna Rada and the Government have been captured by unidentified armed men in unmarked uniforms.

They appear to be highly trained and armed with modern weapons.

I urge the residents of Crimea to remain calm, and not to try to take the initiative in response to the situation.

The release of the captured buildings is the competence of the professional law enforcement agencies – underlined Chubarov”
