President of Uigur Pen-Center, Khayser Abdurasul Ozgur Has Visited Mejlis

On March 23, 2012 the members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Shevket Khaybullaev, Ali Hamzin and Zair Smedlyaev met with the President of Uigur Pen-Center of the International Pen-Club, Khayser Abdurasul Ozgur in Mejlis’ office.

The meeting was also attended by the famous Crimean Tatar writer Urie Edemova and the chief editor of “Yildyz” (Star) magazine, Dilyaver Osmanov.

The main goal of Khayser Ozgun’s visit to Crimea is the acquaintance with Crimea, meetings with the representatives of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as Crimean Tatar poets and writers. “The main topic is the holding of the 4^th International Conference of Ural-Altay Pen-Club (VI Ural-Altay PEN-birliği Konferansı),”- Mr. Ozgun noted.

Mr. Khayser Ozgun also underscored that he is also very interested in the opinion of the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Jemilev concerning the scheduled Conference. “The meeting with Mustafa Jemilev will be a great honor for me, as he is a very honorable man among the whole Muslim and Turkic world,”- Mr. Ozgun noted.

Mr. Khayser Ozgun told in details about the creation of Yigur Pen-Center that is the part of the International Pen-Center with the Headquarters in Sweden and its branch office in Kazakhstan. Yigur Pen-Center has held its conferences in Turkey, Hungary and Mongolia and is planning to hold its forth conference in Crimea. “The mentioned decision wasn’t accidental, – the guest continued. There is a lot that unites our peoples, first of all it is the similarity of our languages. There is almost no difference between us, or they are very small”. The Conference is planned for summer 2012 and it is very likely that it will be held in the former capital of Crimean Tatar state Bakhchisaray. The event will be attended by the delegates of the Turkic speaking countries, as well as Japan, Korea and Estonia. The Conference’s working languages to be Crimean Tatar and English.
