Crimean Political Prisoners

Since the beginning of the occupation of Crimea in February 2014, Russia has been persecuting the inhabitants of the peninsula for their pro-Ukrainian and religious views. The oppression of Crimeans is systematic, and the list of political prisoners is constantly growing. Most often, they are accused of terrorism and extremism. Most of them are representatives of the indigenous people of Crimea – Crimean Tatars, citizens of Ukraine, who are illegally detained on the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula and Russia.
