Participants of Snow Meeting in Trakai Were Given Official Address Concerning Situation with Crimean Tatars in Ukraine

On January 9, 2014, Mr Adas Jakubauskas, representative of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People in the Lithuanian Republic visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. On behalf of the Representative Office of the Mejlis in Lithuania he gave Mr Donatas Augulis, advisor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania the address to the participants of the international meeting of experts and strategists known as Snow Meeting in Trakai.

This year the famous foreign and Lithuanian politicians, officers and experts took part in the international event titled Snow Meeting, including the ministers of the Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Rumania, Slovakia, Sweden, United States Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, NATO Deputy Secretary General, experts of NATO, analytical and research international centers of Northern and Baltic states and United States.

The Address contains the analysis of the situation with the Crimean Tatar people in Ukraine.

Note: Snow Meeting – the traditional international meeting organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The participants of the meeting discussed the global challenges of the security policy in 2014, the coming NATO summit, prospects of EU Eastern Partnership after Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. In regards with the last issue Mr Petro Poroshenko, MP of Ukraine, one of the leaders of the opposition movement in Ukraine came to the Snow Meeting.
