On June 26, 2013, Rally in Honor of Crimean Tatar National Flag Day Starts in Crimea

The rally started this morning at the building of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People: 2, Shmidt St., Simferopol. The rally started with the opening speeches of Mr Riza Shevkiev, CEO of charitable organization “Foundation Qirim”, Mr Zair Smedlyaev, Head of the Secretariat at Mejlis and Mrs Emine Avamileva, member of the Presidium of Mejlis. Mr Niyazi Ramazanov, imam of Qebir – Jami made dua (prayer).

The column of cars from Aqmescit made the following route: Simferopol – Bakhchisaray – Sevastopol – Foros – Simeiz – Yalta – Alushta – Dobroe – Simferopol. The participants from other points joined them on their way.

Arriving at Aqmescit the column made their way to Moscow square then Kuibyshev square and Amet-Khan square. The rally finished at the central square of Simferopol.

On June 26 the festival will be held in Simferopol in the framework of the celebration of the Crimean Tatar National Flag Day: competition of children’s pictures “Bizim Taraf” (Our Land), Crimean Tatar national cuisine competition, Crimean Tatar national fight Quresh, exhibition of the best works of the photo competition “Bairagym”, as well as the arts and crafts fair-exhibition. The concert of honored artists of Ukraine and AR Crimea, representatives of Crimean Tatar performers, national ensembles and performance groups finished the festival.

The annual celebration of the Crimean Tatar National Flag Day is held with support of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People and the World Congress of Crimean Tatars and is organized by the Crimean Tatar youth organizations.
