Muslim Burials Revealed in Alushta

Three skeletons, buried in accordance with Muslim tradition were found next to the buss station in Alushta during the construction works.

According to the Head of Alushta Regional Mejlis Enver Arpatly the skeletons were buried next to each other at a depth of 1.8 m.

“As soon as the remains were found I was called and came to the spot. Arriving to the buss station I first of all called to the Police, Security Service of Ukraine (SCU), City Council and housing and communal services. The representatives of all bodies came after a while. All skeletons were excavated and taken to the examination,”- the Head of the regional Mejlis said.

He also noted that all skeletons were buried according to Muslim tradition. It proves that there was a Muslim cemetery in the territory of today’s buss station.

“According to the law enforcement officials and SCU they will decide soon who is going to by in charge of the case and start the investigation,”- Enver Arpatly noted.
