Mr Refat Chubarov, Chairman of Mejlis Congratulates Tatars of Volga, Ural and Sibiria Living in Crimea on Anniversary of Foundation of National – Cultural Center “Idel – Ural”

On January 25, 2014, the conference hall of AACO “Alraid” in Aqmescit/Simferopol housed the grand events timed to the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the National – Cultural Center of Tatars of Volga, Ural and Sibiria“Idel – Ural”.

Invited by Mr Ilmir Temirgaliev, head of Idel-Ural, Mr Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and his Vice Mr Zaur Smirnov attended the grand meeting.

“We are very pleased to be here along with one of our kindred peoples at this holiday,- Mr Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis said in the beginning of his speech. – Idel-Ural organization was founded in quite difficult period and everyone remembers the tense situation in Crimea in the beginning of the 90-es. In this very period the mass return of the Crimean Tatar people to their native land started. We remember perfectly well and grateful to our brothers-Tatars for the invaluable assistance and support rendered both from Kazan and Volga Tatars living in Crimea.

Addressing the Tatars of Volga, Ural and Siberia numbering around 70 thousands today in Ukraine Mr Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis underscored that the Crimean peninsular inhabited by different peoples deserves only peace and flourishing that undoubtedly depends on the unity of all its residents.

“The Crimean peninsular that returned to its historical native land and fighting for the restoration of their rights, believes in support of their brothers and friends. For the sake of well-being in the Crimean peninsular we will be always together,”- Mr Chubarov said, addressing the Tatars of Volga, Ural and Siberia.

On behalf of the Mejlis Mr Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis and his Vice Mr Zaur Smirnov presented Mr Ilmir Temirgaliev, Head of the National – Cultural Center of Tatars of Volga, Ural and Sibiria“Idel – Ural” the four volume book of Russian historian Mr Valeriy Vozgrin, titled “History of Crimean Tatars’ about the history of the Crimean Tatars since the ancient times up to 1940”.
