Mejlis’ Leader Mustafa Jemilev Visits Azov Madrassa of Islamic Sciences

On October 20, 2012 the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev visited Qalay settlement (Azovskoe), Dzhankoy region in the framework of his working visit where he met with the nationals and visited Azov Madrassa of Islamic Sciences.

In Qalay settlement the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev visited Azov Madrassa of Islamic Sciences and had a talk with the faculty, students and got to know the teaching process in the Madrassa.

In his visit to Qalay settlement the Leader of Mejlis was accompanied by the member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ruslan Qurtseitov, Head of Dzhankoy Regional Mejlis Rustem Ennanov, Head of Qalay Local Mejlis Anvar Ahmadaliev and CEO of the charitable organization “Foundation Krym” Riza Shevkiev.

According to the Deputy Head of Azov (Qalay) Madrassa Ilimdar Jambazov Azov Madrassa was opened in 1998 and today teaches religious and school subjects.

 “The students are enrolled to Madrassa without any exams on the basis of an interview. Azov Madrassa enrolls young men and girls that finished the 8th grade and elder. The school subjects are taught by the teachers of Mayskaya national school. The term of studying in the Madrassa comprises 3 years,”- I. Jambazov noted.

The Deputy Head of Azov (Qalay) Madrassa showed Mejlis’ Leader a cozy and warm campus, accommodating 80 people where the Madrassa’s students live. “The training takes place in the big well-lighted rooms under the guidance of the teachers, having the higher religious education. The students are provided three meals a day, including the national cuisine,”- I. Jambazov said. Teaching, livingandfoodinMadrassaarefree”.

During the tour around the territory of Madrassa Mustafa Jemilev also visited the school rooms, library and computer class and discussed the prospects of the development of training in Madrassa.

Madrassa’s administration also informed that for the period between 1998-2011, 182 students of 2500 that entered it finished Madrassa and secondary school, obtaining the certificates (Shekhadetname and Certificate) of education.

Today the graduates of Madrassa work Imams in various Crimean towns and villages, and continue their education in various higher educational institutions. 13 students are studying in Turkey at the department of theology.
