On July 20, 2012 the head and founder of Moscow Helsinki Group, well-known human rights advocate L. Alekseeva, born in Gezlev (Yevpatoriya, Crimea) celebrates her 85th anniversary.

The Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev congratulated Lyudmila Alekseeva with her anniversary, wished her good health, true friends and team-mates in her noble mission – protection of human and peoples’ rights!

“In 1927, 85 years ago you were born in Good blessed Crimean land. This predetermined the inseparability of your own destiny with the destinies of the Crimean Tatar people.

Looking back at the years of our joint combat against the Communist regime of the USSR, recalling all our friends and sworn brothers on the human rights advocacy movement, I thank the Good for the fearless and true friends that stood nip and tuck with the Crimean Tatar people in its most hard periods.

Your personal contribution to the fight of the Crimean Tatar people for the restoration of their rights is priceless!

Following the principles of non-violence in this general fight that were founded by the human rights advocacy movement in the USSR the brightest representative you are, we not only held out together, but achieved our main goal – Crimean Tatar people returns to its Homeland!

We were happy to see you in Crimea in May 2012. We are always looking forward to see you in the native land!
