Mejlis Leader Met With Ambassador of Republic of Moldova to Ukraine

On April 2, 2013 the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Dr. Ion Stavila.

The Moldavian Ambassador was interested in the latest events in Crimea and reasons of worsening of the relations between the representative body of Crimean Tatars and the authorities of the autonomy, in particular.

The parties also discussed the political situation in Moldova, as well as the relations between the central authorities of Moldova and Gagauzian administrative-territorial autonomy.

H.E. Ambassador Ion Stavila invited the Leader of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev to visit Moldova and Gagauzian autonomy, and also wished to visit Crimea to take part in the events, commemorating the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, timed to the 69th anniversary of the deportation of May 18.
