The meeting of the U.N. Security Council will be held in New-York upon Ukraine and Lithuania’s initiative. The main agenda of the U.N. Security Council is the situation in Crimea.

Mr Jemilev will deliver his speech at 3 p.m. (EST) or 10 p.m. (Crimean local time)

Ms Valentyna Samar, well-known Crimean journalist, chief editor of the Center for Investigative Journalism was invited by the Government of Lithuania to attend the meeting of the U.N. Security Council.

It bears reminding that the UN General Assembly admitted the referendum for joining the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation as illegal. The resolution, titled: “The Territorial Integrity of Ukraine” said. 100 states vote for the adoption of this document at the meeting of the General Assembly on March 27, 2014 in New-York, 11 – against, 58 – abstained.
