«Lenur Islyamov and Zair Smirnov are not politicians and they will not play any political role in the executive power. The Mejlis and the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People will make the political decisions and estimates,»- R.Chubarov concluded
On April 1, 2014, the broad meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People was held. The heads of the regional mejlises, delegates of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People, representatives of the Crimean Tatar public organizations took part in the work of the meeting.
During the meeting its members discussed in details the text of the draft decision of the Mejlis of March 30, 2014, adopted in compliance with the order of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People, held on March 29, 2014 to delegate to the Mejlis the right to appoint the candidates to work in the republican bodies of the executive power.
Considering all opinions and proposals the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov signed the decision “On solution of the practical issues, relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people in the existing situation in Crimea.”
In compliance with this document the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People decided to let Lenur Islyamov to enter the Council of Ministers of Crimea in the capacity of the first Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea and Zaur Smirnov in the capacity of the Chairman of the Republican Committee of Nationalities and Deported Citizens in order to solve the practical issues relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people.
R.Chubarov underscored that the decision of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People does not mean recognition of the political, legal, economical and other changes in Crimea without the consent and without the will of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.
In addition, the Chairman of the Mejlis drew attention that the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People delegated only two candidates that will be enough to understand the trends of actions and intentions with regards to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatars.
“These people are not politicians and they won’t bear any political load in the executive power. The Mejlis and the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People will adopt the political decisions and estimates,”- R.Chubarov concluded.
Decision of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People
“On solution of the practical issues, relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people in the existing situation in Crimea”
The political, legal, economical and other changes introduced in Crimea that regulate the everyday life of Crimean population are implemented without the agreement and will of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.
The authorities that took the responsibility for the situation in Crimea declare the contradicting intentions towards the Crimean Tatar people that put in doubt their readiness to observe the right and interests of the Crimean Tatar people.
The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People should adopt within the shortest period the plan of implementation of the Decision of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People of March 29, 2014 “On execution of the Crimean Tatar people’s right to self-determination in their historical territory – Crimea.”
At the same time, a lot of practical issues relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people in real conditions existing after the changes brought to Crimea, demand their prompt response and participation in their solution with direct participation of the representatives of the Crimean Tatars, authorized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People decided:
1. Give its agreement for entering into the structure of the Council of Ministers of Crimea in order to solve the practical issues relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people to:
ISLYAMOV LENUR – in a capacity of the First Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea;
SMIRNOV ZAUR – in a capacity of the Chairman of the Republican Committee on Nationalities and Deported Citizens.
2. Obligate Islyamov Lenur and Smirnov Zaur to provide a weekly report on the solution of the problems relating to the resettlement of the Crimean Tatar people at the meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
3. In view of the results of the two-week activity of the delegates Islyamov Lenur and Smirnov Zaur to the Council of Ministers of Crimea to reconsider at the meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People the issue about the purposefulness of the further participation of the Crimean Tatar representatives in the work of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
4. Take note of Smirnov Zaur’s statement about the termination of his powers in the capacity of the member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People from April 1, 2014 and further abdication in the nearest session of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People.
5. The present decision of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People does not mean acknowledgment of the political, legal, economical and other changes implemented in Crimea without the agreement and will of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.
