Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Jemilev Met With EU Commissioner Stefan Fule

On February 7, 2013 the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev met with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Mr Stefan Fule in the Office of the European Union in Ukraine.

Having exchanged the opinions about the public and political situation in Crimea in the beginning of the meeting the parties paid the special attention to the preparation and holding of the International Forum on the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people in its Homeland, ensuring its safety and guarantees for its development in Ukraine.

At this, the EU Commissioner Stefan Fule and Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev noted the special role of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaekand his office in the preparation to the International Forum and discussed the issues of further cooperation and interrelation in the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people.

The meeting was also attended by the First Vice Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Crimea Refat Chubarov, Head of the Department of foreign affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ali Hamzin, Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Head of the EU Office in Ukraine Yan Tombinsky, members of the EU delegation, accompanying Stefan Fule during his visit to Ukraine.
