Leader of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev Sent a Letter of Condolences to US President Barack Obama Following the Terrorist Attack in Boston

TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

BARACK OBAMA

YOUR EXCELLENCY MR PRESIDENT,

We, in Crimea with deepest sorrow and pain took the news about the terrorist attacks in Boston causing the human losses.

The Crimean Tatar people that suffered the severest repressions and deportation of 1944 in the 20th century, resulted in tens of thousands deaths of our relatives and friends, deeply condemn any act of violence and terror, irrespective of any reasons and explanations their organizers and executors masked.

The fact that the organizers and executors of the terrorist acts on April 15, 2013 choose the Boston marathon, well known both in US and across the world in order to strike terror and scare into the society, testifies to their meanness, cynicism and moral degradation.

On behalf of the Crimean Tatar people, their executive and representative body – Mejlis and myself let me express you, the American people and families of those who dead our deepest condolences and wish our sincere support and soonest recovery to all those who have been injured.

I’m sure that the American people will live through this test with inherent dignity and responsibility.

Mustafa Jemilev,

Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people
