Leader of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev Met With Chairman of PACE Mevlut Chavusoglu

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mr. Mevlut Chavusoglu and the Turkey’s EU Minister Mr. Egemen Bagis, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine H.E. Mr. Akhmet Bulent Merich and the persons accompanying them came to Crimea to participate in the work of the 8th Forum of Yalta European Strategy (YES) and devoted almost all the day on September 16 to their visit to Bakhchisaray and the meeting with the leaders of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.

After the common Friday’s prayer with their brothers in faith – residents of Bakhchisaray the high guests, accompanied by the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev, President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, First Deputy Chairman of Mejlis Refat Chubarov, Head of Bakhchisaray Regional State Administration Ilmi Umerov, Head of Bakhchisaray Regional Mejlis Akhtem Chiygoz and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Mejlis Ali Khamzin visited the sights of Khan’s palace and talked with the journalists of Crimean Mass Media.

Later on, the Embassy of Turkey to Ukraine gave the business dinner in honor of the high guests and the leaders of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in Markur restaurant. During the dinner the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and his First Deputy Refat Chubarov had the opportunity to discuss with the Chairman of the PACE Mevlut Chavusoglu and Turkey’s EU Minister Egemen Bagis the urgent questions, related to the situation with the Crimean Tatar people and the role of the International community in their solution.
