Leader of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev Meets Turkish Parliamentary Delegation
On April 24, 2012 the meeting was held in the Embassy of Turkey in Kyiv between the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine, Mustafa Jemilev and the members of Turkish Parliamentary delegation, headed by the Chairman of the Commission on the Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of the Turkish Republic, Volkan Bozkyr.
The visit of the Turkish parliamentarians to Ukraine was held in the framework of the official invitation of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Vladimir Litvin and implementation of the program of strengthening and development of the parliamentary relations between Ukraine and Turkey. The meeting was also attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine, Mehmet Samsar.
Volkan Bozkyr imformed the Leader of Mejlis about his meetings with the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Vladimir Litvin, Head of the Committee of the VRU on the Foreign Affairs, Oleg Belorus and his deputy Leonid Kozhara during which they also discussed the issues related to the restoration of Crimean Tatars’ rights in Ukraine, the prospects of the adoption by the Ukrainian Parliament of the draft law of Ukraine “On the restoration of the rights of persons, deported on the ethnic grounds”, as well as the social problems of Crimean Tatars.

During the meeting in the embassy the parties discussed in details the program of the coming visit of the business delegation, headed by the Vice-Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Bekir Bozdag to Ukraine and Crimea.
Let us remind you, that following the visit of the Crimean delegation to the Republic of Turkey on April 17, 2012 the agreement was reached to hold the meetings of the representatives of Turkish and Ukrainian business circles on May 5, 2012 in Kyiv. The visit also includes the visit to Crimea.
