Leader of Mejlis M.Jemilev Has Met with Ambassador of Palestine to Ukraine Mokhammed Al-Asaada

On September 5, 2011 the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev received at his office the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Palestine to Ukraine Mokhammed Al-Asaada.

The high guest who visited Crimea with a working visit was accompanied by the Council Daud Al-Alizhbur, First Counsellor of the Embassy of Palestine to Ukraine Mkhanna Saami and Chairman of the Crimean Association of Foreign Students Kaud Diya.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department foreign relations of Mejlis Ali Khamzin and Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis Zair Smedlyaev.

During the thorough talk the parties have discussed the current public and political situation in Ukraine and Crimea. According to the Palestinian diplomat the numerous Palestinian diaspora lives and studies in Ukrainian and Crimean institutes. The Ambassador Mokhammed Al-Asaada has informed the leaders of Mejlis about the current events in Palestine, mentioning about the peculiarities of the modern political powers in the Palestinian Autonomy, with dominating political party – “Fatkh” and movement – “Khamas”. The diplomat also said that in September 2011 the President of Palestine Mahmud Abbas is going to attend the session of the UN Security Council and request the recognition of the independent Palestinian state and determination of its boundaries.

Moreover, the Ambassador of Palestine to Ukraine Mr. Al-Asaad said that he has been informed about the meeting, organized by Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people between its leaders and the diplomatic missions and international organizations, accredited in Ukraine, to be held in Kyiv in October 2011. Mr.

Ambassador has confirmed his participation at the meeting.

Then the parties exchanged opinions, concerning the preparation and organization by Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in Crimea of the International Forum on the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to their homeland, its security and guarantees of development in Ukraine.
