Ismail Gasprinsky’s Work is a Pattern for Education of New Generations

On March 20 and 21, 2012 the ceremonial events, timed to the 161st anniversary of birth of the famous Crimean Tatar political figure, educator, man of light and leading and a writerIsmail Gasprinsky were held in Crimea.

It was him whom in many respects we owe to the interethnic peace, mutual understanding and friendship between peoples.

On March 20, 2012 the opening of the Literary readings, titled: “I.Gasprinsky’s World”, book exhibition and presentation of Rustem Shakir-Ali book, titled “Eight Steps on Teacher’s Track” were held in I.Gasprinsky Library in Simferopol. The events were organized by the Department of education and culture of Mejlis, CRB “I.Gasprinsky Crimean Tatar Library” and Association of Crimean Tatar Workers of Education “Maarifchi”.

The Chairwoman of the Association of Crimean Tatar Workers of Education “Maarifchi”, Safure Kadzhametova and the Head of the Department of culture and national cultural policy of the Ministry of Culture of ARC, Pavel Ibadlaev made the opening speeches.

“Ismail Gasprinsky was the great man and did a lot not only for Crimean Tatars, but for all Turkic peoples,”- P.Ibadlaev noted. His activity deserves respect and admiration. I am very happy that today the libraries are named in his honor and monuments to him are opened”.

“I would like to congratulate everybody with Navrez Holiday on behalf of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people,- Safure Kadzhametova started her speech. – I also would like to congratulate you all with another holiday – the 161st anniversary of Ismail Gasprinsky’s birth. Undoubtedly, the day of his birth became the great day in the history of the Crimean Tatar people”.

In the framework of the Literary readings there was the celebration of the 10th anniversary of educational journal “Tasil”. During the celebration Safure Kadzhametova told about the history of the journal and the main topics of the journal.

In conclusion of the meeting there was a Scype connection with Rustem Shakir-Ali, the author of the book “Eight Steps on Teacher’s Track”. This book is a collection of articles about Ismail Gasprinsky’s views.

One could state that today the interest to I.Gasprinsky’s work and his personality increased. His figure must be and is a pattern for education of the new generations. “It was him whom in many respects we owe to the interethnic peace, mutual understanding and friendship between peoples,”- the participants of the Literary readings noted.
