Crimean Tatar Students Start off Studying at Near East University of TRNC

On September 17, 2013 the Head of the Department of Culture and Education at the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Head of the Association of the Crimean Tatar Workers of Culture “Maarifchi” Mrs Safure Kadzhametova saw off four students that were enrolled at the Near East University – one of the best universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

As is known, in 2009 the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Jemilev and the Chancellor of the Near East University signed the agreement in Nicosia providing 3-4 quotas for Crimean Tatar students.

In 2013 following the competition the following students were enrolled at the Near East University, they are: Sabrie Abdureshitova, Erol Abduljelilov, Dilyara Samedinova and Akim Umerov. Two of the young man were enrolled at the first course and the rest will obtain the MA  degree at this university.

On behalf of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Mrs Safure Kadzhametova wished the student good trip and successful and fruitful studying and return with a fuller bundle of knowledge to their homeland.
