Chairman of Crimean Tatar Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Ukraine Jacques Faure
On June 11, 2011 the meeting between the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Ukraine Jacques Faure was held in Simferopol in the framework of his private visit to Crimea.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, First Deputy Chairman of Crimean Tatar Mejlis Refat Chubarov, Head of department of foreign relations of Mejlis Ali Khamzin and the Head of Bakhchisaray regional state administration Ilmi Umerov.
The participants of the meeting discussed a range of questions related to the modern situation of the Crimean Tatar people, peculiarities of its resettlement and forms of dialogue with the authorities of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev invited Mr. Faure to attend the ceremonial opening of the Center of Crimean Tatar museum “La Richesse” planned for the nearest future in the historical capital of the Crimea – Bakhchisaray. According to Mustafa Jemilev, around one and a half thousand exhibits of the created museum, many of which are real rarity, were collected by Guliver Altyn – Crimean Tatar living in France.
The Ambassador of France to Ukraine Mr. Faure shared his interlocutors’ opinion concerning the necessity to extend cultural relations between Crimean and France, including promotion to activity of French and Ukrainian public organizations.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues related to preparation and carrying out of the International Forum on the restoration of the rights of Crimean Tatar people on their homeland, its security and guarantee of development in Ukraine.
