Poland officially recognized the genocide of the Crimean Tatars
The lower house of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) passed a resolution condemning the genocide of the Crimean Tatars by the Soviet authorities in 1944.
414 members of the Polish Parliament voted for the adoption of the resolution, 16 voted against it, and two abstained.
“The deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea in 1944 and its consequences was genocide against the Crimean Tatar people”, the resolution states.
