Opening of the commemorative plaque in honor of Noman Chelebidzhihan
Yesterday, in Ichnya town of Chernihiv region a commemorative plaque in honor of the outstanding Crimean Tatar political figure, Noman Chelebidzhikhan, was opened. It was mounted on the wall of the city railway station.
The following delegates participated in this ceremonial opening: Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People – Ilmi Umerov; First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine – Emine Dzeppar; Deputy Chairman of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration –Romanova Natalia Andreevna; Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Chernihiv RegionalState Administration – Levochko Olexandr Volodymyrovych; heads of the Ichnya and Koropsky District State Administrations; Chairmen of the District Rada and the United Territorytorial Communities of Ichnya; Chairman of the public organization ” The Ukrainian initiative ” –Kosenko Yuriy.
The local community prepared for thir guests a rich program, but the real gift was the live performance by the regional choral collective of the National Anthem of the Crimean Tatar People “Ant etkenmen”, the words of which was written by Noman Celebidzhikhan.
Ilmi Umerov in his speech thanked all Ichnya citizens for such a warm welcome, conveyed a greeting from the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People – Refat Chubarov, and reminded of the struggle for the liberation of the occupied territories of Ukraine. “Only together by joint efforts, we will be able to get over a common enemy, as before, here in Konotop,” – said the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis.
Inside the railway station building, Yu. Kosenko, in his lecture gave an information that N. Chelebidzhikhan had visited the station several times during his trips to St. Petersburg and even tried the local pies with cabbage, about which he wrote in one of his diaries. After this, all guests tried the same pies, the recipe of which, according to Kosenko, for hundred years did not change at all.
In return, the Crimean Tatars presented to the Leaders of the region the commemorative coins in honor of the 100th anniversary of the First Qurultai of the Crimean Tatar People and a ceramic plate of the well-known master-ceramist, Rustem Skibin.
A delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants became the conclusion of the visit.
