The Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council (UNIC)
A meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council is taking place in Odesa.
Participants are: member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) – Raynell Andreychuk, Head of the NATO Representation to Ukraine – Alexander Vinnikov, Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine – Barbora Maronkova, members of the Interparliamentary Council and NATO Parliamentary Assembly Committees, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Croatia to Ukraine.
Ukraine is represented by: the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – Iryna Herashchenko, Vice-Prime-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine – Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Minister on Temporarily Occupied Territories – Vadym Chernysh, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine – Dmytro Shymkiv, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People – Refat Chubarov, people’s deputies of Ukraine, Head of the Odesa Region.
Refat Chubarov together with the deputy head of “CrimeaSOS”, Eugenia Andreyuk, participated in the discussion of such issue as the “Militarization of Crimea and Violation of Human Rights on the Peninsula.”
The agenda also includes debates on such topics as: Ukraine-NATO cooperation, Ukrainian reforms, Humanitarian and Security situations in the East of Ukraine and others.
Also, according to the program, the participants will visit the Western Naval Base of Ukraine; the Flagship of Ukrainian Navy, frigate “Hetman Sahaydachniy”; will meet with students of the Odesa I.I.Mechnikov National University, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
