Chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov Believes that Ukraine Will Enter Family of European Nations

Ukraine’s aspirations to enter the family of the European nations united the citizens of Ukraine. Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People stated this in his speech made at the action “I choose EU” held on November 28, 2013 in Simferopol, the Crimean Mass Media report.

Hundreds of people – representatives of various nationalities living in Crimea came to the central square in Simferopol. The participants of the action including many young people, veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement, members of the Mejlis, representatives of the public organizations carried the Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar and EU flags, performed the Ukrainian anthems and chanted “Ukraine is Europe” and Yanukovych sign it”.

The representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, public organizations of Crimean and veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement made their speeches at the meeting.

“I often think over the things that could unite the people. And finally we found themselves in such situation. I see people here in the square and I am very glad that there are a lot of young people who speak different languages, probably have different views on the situation in Crimea, but they all one the same – they want Ukraine in the freedom loving family of the European nations. This unites us,”- Mr Refat Chubarov, Mejlis Head noted in his speech.

“Our aspirations to be among those who appreciate the law, freedom and each other, our aspirations to be among them in this European family united us finally. Hold on, sooner or later we will be there,”- Mejlis Head underscored.

Mr Dilyaver Akiev, Head of the Mejlis Secretariat also spoke in support of the European integration of the Ukrainian state.
