Mourning Meeting – Requiem and Praying Commemorating Victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 Takes Place in Simferopol

The mourning meeting – requiem commemorating the victims of Holodomor started on November 23, 2013 in Simferopol near the Cathedral church of St. Equal-to-the-Apls Grand Prince Vladimir and Olga at 4 p.m. with the strokes of the metronome that notified about the national minute of silence.

Before this the Head of Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Crimea (Kyiv Patriarchate) prayed for the repose of a soul of the victims of Holodomor.

Mejlis Head Refat Chubarov, delegates of Qurultay, veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement took place in the mourning meeting – requiem along with the Ukrainian community.

In his speech the Chairman of the Mejlis Mr Refat Chubarov expressed his condolences to the Ukrainian community on behalf of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis and himself and called the participants of the praying to be active implementators of the principles of the democracy, freedom, human rights and peoples rights in Ukraine.
