Chairman of Leninsky Regional Mejlis Resigns Commission

On November 12, 2013, Mr Zaur Smirnov, Vice Chairman of the Mejlis, Head of the Department on the work with the national self-governance bodies, state executive authorities of ARC, local self-governance bodies, deputy councils at all levels at the Mejlis and Mr Zair Smedlyaev, Head of the Central Election Commission of the Qurultay made their working visit to Leninsky region.

According to the Head of the CEC Mr Zair Smedlyaev, they took part in the broad meeting of the Leninsky Regional Mejlis attended by the members of the regional mejlis and delegates of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People of the 6th convocation that were elected in this region. The participants of the meeting heard the report on the first session of the 6th Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People.

The participants of the meeting also considered the resignation of the chairman of the regional mejlis.

The Chairman of Leninsky Regional Ms Elvira Akimova read her resignation statement. Mr Lenur Ablyazimov was elected the new chairman. He will act as interim chairman. The new chairman will be elected after the regional conference,”- Mr Zaur Smirnov said.

According to Mr Smirnov, the date of the regional conference will be approved at the meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.

According to the Head of CEC of the Qurultay Mr Smedlyaev, Ms Elvira Akimova resigned commissions for family reasons and because of her health condition. In addition he said that the vice chairmen of the regional mejlis refused acting as interim chairman.
