Mejlis Head Refat Chubarov: Effective Work of Mejlis Will Depend on Its Optimal Structure

On October 31, 2013, the first meeting of the new composition of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People was held.

Opening the meeting Mr Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People congratulated all members of the Mejlis with the beginning of the work of the newly elected Mejlis and expressed his conviction that the whole activity of the Mejlis will meet the interests of the Crimean Tatar people.

As was planned earlier the members of the Mejlis discussed in every details the suggestions on the structure of the Mejlis and its executive bodies. “The effectiveness of the Mejlis work will greatly depend on our choice of its optimal structure. That is why I would like to ask every one of you to substantiate in details your suggestions concerning the structure of the Mejlis. At this, I would like to ask you to focus your attention on those tasks and directions that were ranked among the top priority ones by the delegates of the Qurultay of the previous and present convocations,”- the Chairman of the Mejlis Mr Refat Chubarov called his colleagues.

During the meeting the objective and useful exchange of the opinions, approaches and views on the mentioned issue took place. The members of the Mejlis that spoke about its structure made a range of the particular suggestions that were called to optimize the management structure of the Mejlis activity on one side, and ensure the priorities of its activity on other side, following from the expectations of the Crimean Tatars and corresponding decisions of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People.

At this, almost every member of the Mejlis that spoke at the meeting noted that the discussion of the structure of the Mejlis and its executive bodies in relations with the definition of the priority tasks and directions of Mejlis activity will promote the qualitative distribution of the Mejlis members to the corresponding structural divisions of the Mejlis and choosing persons to be conformed in the capacity of the deputies Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.

Thus, according to the decision adopted by the Mejlis members the next meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People will be held on November 5, 2013 where the structure of the Mejlis and its executive bodies, deputies Chairman of the Mejlis and heads of its structural divisions will be approved.

In conclusion of the first session of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People hajji Emirali Ablaev, Mufti of Muslims of Crimea, member of the Mejlis spoke.

The first session was attended by 31 members of the Mejlis. Two members were absent for a valid reason. The session of the Mejlis was attended by the whole composition of the Revision Commission of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People as well as the delegates of the Qurultay of the previous and present convocations and representatives of the Crimean Tatar public organizations.

It bears reminding that the grand ceremony of inauguration of newly elected Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and the members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People will be held in Bakhchisaray on November 1, 2013.

The ceremony will be held in Khan-Jami and will start with Friday namaz. The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m.
