Meeting Timed to European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism to Be Held on August 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Simferopol

The annual mourning meeting timed to the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism, in order to preserve the memory of the victims of mass deportations and executions will be held on August 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Simferopol in Salgirka Park next to the monument commemorating the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar People.

Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of Mejlis said this at his Press conference held on August 21, 2013.

Annually since 2009 on August 23 the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People along with the Ukrainian national – democratic forces holds the informative actions timed to the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism, in order to preserve the memory of the victims of mass deportations and executions.

“This event is absolutely open and everyone irrespective of one’s political views and national belonging could come and support this informative action,”- Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of Mejlis underscored.
