On August 15, 2013, Regular Meeting of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Was Held

On August 15, 2013, the regular meeting of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People was held. The agenda of the meeting consisted of two items – the preparation to the meeting timed to the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism, in order to preserve the memory of the victims of mass deportations and executions. The second and main item of the agenda was the adoption of the decision on calling of the 1^st meeting of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People of the 6^th convocation.

Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People spoke on the first item, informing the Mejlis members about the work done by the organizing committee to prepare and hold the meeting and reminded that traditionally it will be held next to the monument to the deportation in Salgirka Park. The meeting will be attended by more than 1000 people from various regions of Crimea.

Mr Mustafa Jemilev, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of Mejlis, Mr Zair Smedlyaev, Head of the Central Election Commission of Qurultay and other members of Mejlis spoke about the date of the first meeting of Qurultay of the sixth convocation. During the consideration of this issue the decision was made to fix the date of the first meeting of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People of the sixth convocation on October 26-27, 2013.

The Organizing Service for the preparation and holding of the first meeting of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People of the sixth convocation was ordered to provide the suggested order of work and draft agenda of the first meeting of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People until October 1, 2013 to be confirmed by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and then delivered to all elected delegates of Qurultay.
