Republican Tournament on National Belt-Wrestling Kuresh Was Held in Aqmescit on Last Day of Ramadan Bayram

On August 10, 2013, on the last day of one of the greatest Islamic holidays Ramadan (Oraza Bayram) the Republican Tournament on the National Belt-Wrestling Kuresh was held in Aqmescit. The organizers of the tournament were AUASO “Alraid” and Crimean Federation of the National Belt-Wrestling Kuresh.

Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, Mr Rustem Kazakov, Olympic Wrestling Champion, Mr Enver Useinov, Secretary of Kuresh Federation, Mr Muslim Dervishev, Chairman of the Public Organization “Emel” and many more came to wish good luck to the wrestlers.

Around 70 wrestlers from all around Crimea both Crimean Tatars and representatives of other nationalities took part in the tournament in various weight classes and age groups.

“Annually we hold Kuresh tournament. Usually it is timed to the celebration of Ramadan or Kurban bayram. This year we have timed it to Ramadan bayram. AUASO “Alraid” cooperates with Kuresh Federation that provides us an essential and qualitative support in conducting the tournament on a high level,”- Mr Muslim Dervishev said.

He also noted that the winners will be presented with cups, medals, certificates and money reward.

The Kuresh tournament lasted about three hours. After the competition the judges decided on the winners in various classes.

On behalf of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Mr Refat Chubarov congratulated all the participants of the tournament with Ramadan Bayram and thanked the organizers of the tournament – AUASO “Alraid” and the Crimean Federation of National Wrestling Kuresh for the tournament that already became a tradition.

Mr Refat Chubarov, First Vice Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars also presented the medals to the winners in elder groups.

According to Mr Chubarov, the national wrestling tournaments are the great incentive for the youth. They also promote bringing up the patriotic, single-minded, smart and strong generation.

Mr Refat Chubarov addressed separately to the organizers of the tournament making a comment concerning the absence of the Crimean Tatar national flag. “There must be the Crimean Tatar flag at every mass event that we hold in Crimea,”- he underscored. The organizers responded that next time they won’t make this mistake again.

Traditionally the absolute winner was presented a 60 kilogram ram.

After the tournament everyone was invited to the festive table.

Under 35 kilograms: 2nd place Akhmet Kulametov, 1st place – Mustafa Umerov.

Under 50 kilograms: 3rd palce – Mustafa Hayberdiev, 2nd place – Mustafa Ibraimov, 1st place – Emirali Osmanov.

Under 55 kilograms: 3rd palce – Rustem Miroshnikov, 2nd place – Alim Delna, 1st place – Ruslan Miroshnikov.

Under 60 kilograms: 3rd palce – Asan Shaipov, 2nd place – Yakub Bekirov, 1st place – Ahtem Seitmemetov.

Under 70 kilograms: 3rd palce – Ismet Alimjanov, 2nd place – Memet Asanov, 1st place – Abdulla Kurbekov.

Under 75 kilograms: 3rd palce – Jafer Sadykov, 1st place – Sabri Tokhtarov.

Under 85 kilograms: 3rd palce – Ivan Donenko, 2nd place – Marlen Azamatov, 1st place – Marlen Seitumerov.

Winners in the senior group:

62 kilograms: 2nd place – Ervin Seitdzhelil, 1st place – Shevket Haibullaev.

68 kilograms: 3rd palce – Ilyas KEnzhaliev, 2nd place – Halil Hayberdyev, 1st place – Ruslan Holodov.

75 kilograms: 3rd palce – Lenur Yuldashev, 2nd place – Geray Kulametov, 1st place – Izzet Kadyrov.

80 kilograms: 3rd palce – Marlen Kurtbedinov, 2nd place – Ismail Ismailov, 1st place – Eldar Mametov.

100 kilograms: 2nd place – Rudem Shabadinov, 1st place – Alexei Avdeev.

Absolute weight category:

3rd palce – Asan Asanov,
