Mr Haiser Jemilev to Be Held in Custody Until September 25 for a Period of Investigation
According to the suspect’s advocate, Mr Alexander Lesovoy, on July 25, 2013, the Kyiv Regional Court of Simferopol extended the period of keeping the son of the Head of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Jemilev Mr Haiser Jemilev in custody for additional 60 days.
The court specified that at the moment there are no grounds to release the suspect and also drew attention to the fact that the investigation can’t complete the prejudicial inquiry within the two months period provided earlier due to the objective reasons. One of them is the necessity to perform an additional forensicmedical examination.
Mr Alexander Lesovoy, Mr Haiser Jemilev’s advocate told that “the additional forensicmedical examination didn’t start yet, but it will be performed. The investigation will decide where the examination should be performed. Itwon’tbeCrimea. ItcouldbeKharkovorKyiv. They will choose the facility that will be able to perform all the examinations quicker, considering the need to observe both the reasonable terms of the investigation and reasonable terms of the arrest of the suspect.” Earlier, the Crimean Republican Psychiatric Hospital failed to diagnose Mr Haiser Jemilev. The doctors advised the investigation performing an additional examination.
In addition, the prosecutor’s adduction made during the trail proved that Mr Fevzi Edemov was killed in just one shot, instead tree ones, as some Mass Media groundlessly wrote earlier.
