Mustafa Jemilev’s Meeting in National Center of Islamic Communities of Germany
The Leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev met with the General Secretary of the Federation of Turks of Germany Şentrük Doğruyol in Frankfort on the Main.
This Federation numbers around 300 branches and associations in Germany.
“The present situation around the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in Ukraine is extremely wrong and political deadlock. The Ukrainian authorities declare their integration to the European Union, but at the same time they show an incomprehensible disrespect to the representative body of the Crimean Tatars and its leaders, honored Leader Mustafa Abdujemil Qirimoglu. It is a common knowledge that the world famous human rights advocate Mustafa Jemilev and the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people is the institution of the democratic values and non-violent struggle, recognized in Europe long ago,”- Şentrük Doğruyol noted.
The Head of the Federation of Turks of Germany expressed his opinion that the Ukrainian authorities have to came urgently with the initiative of establishing a dialogue with the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and its Leader Mustafa Jemilev.
Şentrük Doğruyol was sure that the systematic dialogue would let to turn from the confrontation to the fruitful cooperation, and would promote the ensuring of peace and wellbeing in Ukraine.
During the dialogue the parties discussed in details the forms and principles of broadening and strengthening of the further mutual cooperation.
Then in Kerpen (North Rhine Land – Westphalia) Mustafa Jemilev met with Oguz Ücüncü, a well-known figure in the Islamic world, one of the leaders of German Muslims, the General Secretary of the National Center of Islamic Communities.
During the meeting Mr Oguz Ücüncü expressed his pity over the news about the Ukrainian authorities’ recent negative actions against the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in Crimea that caused the confrontation and tension in the peninsular.
According to Mr Ücüncü, the ignoring of the national bodies of the self-governance of the Crimean Tatars and rights of the indigenous people of Crimea is inadmissible for the countries, wishing to become a part of Europe.
The General Secretary of the National Center of Islamic Communities of Germany Oguz Ücüncü was sure that the Ukrainian and republican authorities must show the political resoluteness and turn from the confrontation to the dialogue.
