March 31, 2013 Meeting of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People
The main items of the agenda were: preparation to the memorable events, commemorating the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, timed to the 69th anniversary of the deportation; and elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people.
Discussing the issues, relating to the preparation of the memorable events, commemorating the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people, timed to the 69th anniversary of the deportation of May 18, 2013 Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people ordered the Organizing Committee on the preparation to the memorable events, commemorating the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people to develop more detailed plan of the events, considering the public and political situation that will be then approved at the meeting of the Presidium of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
During the meeting of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people the issues, relating to carrying out of Hydyrlez festival was discussed and the decision was made to create the Organizing Committee, including all heads of regional mejlises and headed by the member of the Presidium of Mejlis Emine Avamileva.
The celebration of Hydyrlez festival was scheduled on May 6, 2013 in the territory of Bakhchisaray region next to Shakherezada restaurant where it has been holding for the last few years.
After that the word was given to the Head of the Central election commission on the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Zair Smedlyaev who informed the participants of the meeting about the course of preparation of the elections of the delegates of Qurultay and some peculiarities of the electing process.
According to Zair Smedlyaev 14 Crimean Tatar public and political organizations and their blocks expressed their willingness to take part in the elections of the delegates of Qurultay. 13 of 14 mentioned organizations have been already registered in CEC.
The Head of CEC of Qurultay noted that 201 people were registered in organizations and blocks in compliance with the proportional system, claiming to 50 seats in Qurultay. Zair Smedlyaev drew attention of all present to the fact that all the participants of the election process, including the organizations and their blocks registered, as well as the candidates of Qurultay in the majoritarian districts, have right to propose their candidates to the members of the district election commissions. He also informed that in compliance with the agreement, reached the international observers will also watch for the course of the elections of the delegates of Qurultay.
Zair Smedlyaev also informed that next week holding of draw for the order of Crimean Tatar political public and political organizations and their blocks is planned.
The issues, relating to the construction of Buyuk Juma Jami and school in Bor-Chokrak settlement were also touched upon at the meeting of Mejlis.
In conclusion of the meeting of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people the heads of the regional mejlises were ordered to prepare the list of the main problems of their regions to be further discussed with the authorities.
