Mustafa Jemilev: «The report of the OSCE independent experts on the situation in Crimea and Crimean Tatar people, due on April – May, 2013 will not only provide the objective picture, but also assist the participants of the coming International Forum

On January 24, 2013 the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev met with the senior advisor of the OSCE High Commissioner on national minorities Alexander Vinnikov and legal advisor Vincent de Graf.

The meeting, held in the office of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people was attended by the First Vice Chairman of Mejlis Refat Chubarov, Head of the Department of foreign relations Ali Hamzin and Head of Secretariat of Mejlis Zair Smedlyaev.

The participants of the meeting discussed the issues, related to the final stage of the preparation of the expert research on a wide range of issues that will be suggested to consideration of the participants of the International forum on the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people in its Homeland, ensuring its security and guaranties of its development in Ukraine.

 “As a result of the large scale and detailed work of a group of the highly qualified and independent experts, headed by Mr. Endrew Wilson, organized by the office of the OSCE High Commissioner on national minorities the particular recommendations of the OSCE to the participants of the coming Forum were worked out,”- the advisors of the OSCE High Commissioner said.

According to Alexander Vinnikov and Vincent de Graf, the general report and recommendations will be published in the separate issues in English, Ukrainian and Russian languages and available on the OSCE web site after their prior approbation on April 2013 with the democratic corps, accredited in Ukraine and their official presentation in Kyiv in late May – early June 2013.

Continuing the talk the participants of the meeting discussed the public and political situation in Crimea, exchanged their opinions on a range of the recent resonant events.

Thus, the advisors of the OSCE High Commissioner on national minorities were interested in the results of the police investigation of the attack on the guard in the territory of the future construction of Juma Jami (Central Mosque) on November 30 – December 1 at night and the riot, organized by the political Party “Russian Unity” in Molodezhnoe settlement and scandalous exhibition, dedicated to Stalin, held in Simferopol on December 21, 2012.

In conclusion of the meeting Mejlis Leader Mustafa Jemilev thanked the workers of the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities for such consequent and systematic work on preparation to the International Forum. He underscored that the report of the independent OSCE experts, planed on April – May 2013 on the situation in Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people will not only provide the objective picture, but help the participants of the coming International forum to dev
