Central Election Commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People Holds its First Meeting

The Central election commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people held its first meeting. The meeting was attended by 15 of its 17 members. The members of the Commission discussed the following issues: on the structure of the Central election commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people, on the “Regulations of the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people”, on the procedure of the Central election commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and the documents, required to organize and hold the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people of the 6^th convocation.

During the discussion of the structure of the Central election commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people the chairing Head of the Central election commission Zair Smedlyaev informed that in compliance with the Article 16, item 2 of the “Regulations on the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people”, adopted at the 5^th session of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people, the Head – Zair Smedlyaev, and Abdurahmanov Leman; Ablaev Dilyaver; Adil’seitov Refat; Karamanov Nadir; Mambetova Mediha; Memetov Nazim; Useinov Aziz; Haibullaev Zamir were elected the members of the Central election commission of Qurultay. Suggested by the subjects of the election process on the election of the delegates of the current composition of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Ablyatipov  Ismail, Ametshaeva Revzie, Bektemirov El’dar, Bilyalov Seiran, Zeitulaev Alim, Izedinov  Izet, Seithalilova Lyutfie, Fukala Aliewere included into the Central Election Commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people as its members”.

In compliance with the Article 16.6 of the “Regulations on the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people” the Head has the right to propose the candidates to be elected to the positions of the Deputy Chairman and Secretary of CEC. However Zair Smedlyaev addressed the present members of the Commission to propose their candidates to be elected to the position of the Deputy Chairman and Secretary of CEC. After a brief consideration of the candidates the members of the Commission supported unanimously the candidate Nazim Memetov to the position of the Deputy Chairman of the Central election commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and Alim Zeytullaev to the position of the Secretary of CEC.

After that the members of CEC examined the main peculiarities of the “Regulations on the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people” and the documents required to organize and hold the elections of the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people of the 6^th convocation. The members of the Commission adopted the decision to prepare the draft blanks and necessary election documentation to be approved at the next meeting.

The next meeting of the Central Election Commission was scheduled on January 22, 2013.
