«We used to say what we consider to be right, instead of what the authorities consider to be right,»- Mejlis Leader Mustafa Jemilev
Discussing the sympathies and moods among Crimean Tatars, including the ones, relating to the activity of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the host of the TV show “Perekrestok” Nariman Jelyal asked Mejlis Leader – “In 2012 there was a number of Crimean Tatars who say – why we support the opposing parties, let’s support the ruling party and our problems will be started solving more or less quicker. Among them both the public organizations and I even know the delegates of Qurultay who share the same opinion. Recently, the member of the VR ARC from the faction “Qurultay-Rukh” Enver Abduraimov said in the TV show “Perekrestok” that he doesn’t understand why Mejlis do not want seeking the closer dialogue with the ruling party”.
The Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev stated that he can’t help characterizing such statements as a vivid manifestation of the political conformism, and people also call this kind if behavior otherwise.
“This means that whatever the authorities would be we should follow them and praise them, hoping that they will threw us something,- Mejlis Leader said. It seems like a young politician Enver Abduraimov doesn’t know the essence of the Crimean Tatar National Movement – we always kept to the particular basic principles and supported the national-democratic movements”.
Mejlis Leader reminded that the Soviet authorities didn’t like very much these fundamental positions of the Crimean Tatar people. People were taken to prisons and Soviet camps for that.
“We used to say what we consider to be right, instead of what the authorities consider to be right,- the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev said. It’s the problem of the authorities when they give the positions to those persons who are loyal to them or those whom they like”.
The Leader of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev believes that the task of the authorities is to ensure the adequate living conditions for the citizens of the country and people will make their own conclusions how to vote in the next elections. They shouldn’t press upon the people trying to break them and to make them vote under the lash.
“I hope so much that our young politicians will not follow this fatal and immoral principle,”- M.Jemilev said in conclusion.
